Pathways To Excellence

Pathways To Excellence

Designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE designation identifies the elements of interprofessional work environments where nurses can flourish and feel empowered. The designation substantiates nursing job satisfaction at Monroe Clinic and identifies it as one of the best places to work.

Monroe Clinic  nurses are professionals and own their nursing practice.  They drive improvements in their practice as well as uphold the highest standards of care. That results in better service and care for you--the customer-- and more fulfilling nursing careers that attract and keep the very best and most capable nurses.

The Pathway to Excellence designation is granted based on the confirmed presence of the six Pathway to Excellence Practice Standards:

1. Shared decision-making

2. Leadership

3. Safety

4. Quality

5. Well-being

6. Professional development

For Monroe Clinic to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, we successfully passed a thorough review process that documented our foundational quality initiatives that create a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. Nurses at Monroe Clinic validated the presence of the criteria through participation in a completely voluntary and confidential online survey. NOTE: It’s mandatory that these initiatives are integrated into Monroe Clinic’s practices, policies and culture.

Our second designation in a row, Monroe Clinic initially applied and received the designation in 2014.  As a Pathway to Excellence designated organization, Monroe Clinic is committed to creating an environment where nurses excel and feel valued as integral members of interprofessional health care teams.

This designation confirms to the public that nurses working at Monroe Clinic know their efforts are supported. The honor encourages other nurses to join their colleagues in this desirable and nurturing environment. The Pathway to Excellence designation is perfectly suited to and desired by health care organizations around the world.
