Monroe Clinic Announces Building Project - 08/13/15

Campus Update

revised 5/22/17

Advances in technology, healthcare and energy efficiency are good for all of us. These advances have led us to make some big decisions regarding Monroe Clinic’s main campus, especially the former St. Clare Hospital building, now known as the St. Clare Center. Portions of the St. Clare Center are over 75 years old.

We are proud to announce the beginning of some extensive campus construction, our Campus Project. The end result of this project will be the replacement of the St. Clare Center with a new, energy-efficient medical office building as well as updating our existing clinic building.

Here's an approximate timeline for these important updates:

  • Fall 2015 – Remodeling of a vacant portion of the 2012 Hospital to accommodate a new Rehabilitation Center kicks off.
  • Fall 2016- Spring 2017 – Occupants of the 1938 and 1950 portions of the St. Clare Center will be relocated to the 1970s portion of the St. Clare Center and the new Rehabilitation Center is opened in the hospital.  Demolition of the 1938 and 1950 portions of the St. Clare Center will begin. Some remodeling of the current Clinic building will begin.
  • Summer 2017 - Construction will begin on a new medical office building.
  • 2019 – Clinic remodeling will conclude and the remainder of the St. Clare Center will be demolished. Parking lot creation and landscaping will take place.
  • 2020 – Expected completion of the project.

When the project is complete, we will have a modern, efficient campus that will meet the needs of our patients and community for a long time into the future. We look forward to keeping you updated as the project progresses.
