Endocrinology

Endocrinology treats the endocrine system that consists of a complex group of glands including the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, ovaries, testes, adrenal, pituitary and hypothalamus. These glands are responsible for making hormones used inside of your body. Each gland produces a different type of hormone, and each hormone helps regulate some part of your body’s natural functions—like metabolism and reproduction.

The glands only produce and release hormones as needed. Endocrine system disorders and diseases can develop if one or more endocrine glands are not functioning properly.
