A hospitalist is a physician specially trained to care for the very sick and critically ill while they are in the hospital.
Hospitalists work within the hospital, making them more available to patients than clinic-based physicians. While a patient is hospitalized, the hospitalist will make regular visits, manage general medical care, and communicate with the patient’s primary physician. Our hospitalists lead quality initiatives to continuously improve inpatient care. Studies show that care delivered by hospitalists shortens the length of stay and lowers cost for patients.
From the ICU to the overnight stay for a scheduled surgery, our hospitalists maintain a seamless flow of care and communication for inpatients.
