St. Clare Friedensheim Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

Ice Cream Social Planned to Mark Occasion

To mark the 10–year anniversary, the board of directors, staff and residents are inviting the community to join them for an ice cream social on Thursday, July 1 from 2-4 pm at their location at 2003 4th Street. Local musician, Jesse Walker, will provide entertainment.

When St. Clare Friedensheim opened its doors in July 2000, it was the first facility of its kind in Monroe, Wis.

As a Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC), St. Clare Friedensheim combines the environment and amenities of senior apartments with supportive services tailored to each tenant. These services include household services, personal care assistance and limited nursing care and can be altered according to each resident’s changing needs.

“The real advantage to residents is the availability of supportive, personal and nursing services, which allows them to live in their apartment homes for a much longer period of time and remain as independent as possible,” said Sharon Paulson, director of St. Clare Friedensheim.

St. Clare Friedensheim is a joint venture of New Glarus Home, Monroe Clinic, and St. John’s United Church of Christ of Monroe. The RCAC began with 26 apartments and added 24 additional apartment units November 2004. Today, St. Clare Friendensheim is home to 49 tenants and employs 26 staff members.

“Everyone at St. Clare Friedensheim is looking forward to this event. We are especially excited to have our friends and family in the community join us as we reflect on the past decade and celebrate the people who call St. Clare Friedensheim home,” said Paulson.
