What Does Quality Mean to You?

What Does Quality Mean to You?

About Us

How do you define “healthcare quality?” The healthcare industry has been trying to answer this question for years.

Here’s how quality data is helping us ensure our care is safe, friendly and effective:

  • Public reporting holds us accountable to patients, insurance companies, government, other organizations and ourselves.
  • Data reveals opportunity for improvement and affirms where processes are working well.
  • Comparison tools show hospital size is not necessarily an indicator of quality.

In December 2017, Monroe Clinic received the news that we had received a 5-STAR Rating - the highest possible score - from Medicare's Hospital Compare program.

We are excited to report this is a very big deal, and here's why:

  • Out of 4,500 hospitals surveyed nationwide, only 337 receive the top, 5-Star overall rating
  • Medicare's ratings are based on performance data, so they are evidence-based and quantifiable
