About Us

Q: What do these scores represent?

A: These quality scores compare how closely a hospital system performs against recommended care processes for some of the most common and costly conditions. Research shows following these steps will lead to the best results for most patients.

Q: How did Monroe Clinic decide which other hospitals to compare?

A: We know around here, you have choices about where to seek care. The hospitals we chose for comparison are located within a 50-mile radius of Monroe, Wis.

Q: I noticed some differences in the number of criteria and categories listed on hospitalcompare.hhs.gov and the number listed in Monroe Clinic’s report card. Why the difference?

A: According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 25 cases are required to accurately assess how well a hospital is performing. For this reason we removed these criteria from consideration from all hospitals if fewer than 25 people were treated at Monroe Clinic.

Q: How often is the data updated?

A: The Department of Health and Human Services releases this data every quarter, so come back to see our progress. Also, as new categories of data are released, they will appear on Monroe Clinic’s future report cards.
